Hsinchu, Taiwan,
AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced its new organization arrangement in view of the Era of the 5N's (five new evolutions) amid the waves of globalization. The initiative aims at employing strategic job transfers, recruiting talents from all fields and promoting young professional managers to even better motivate the organization. The new administration, effective from May 1st, 2010 will accelerate AUO's deployment of the 5N's, namely new applications, new technologies, new businesses, new markets and new business models, to create more values in services and innovation for clients and consumers.
Through regular job transfers, professional managers in AUO are constantly afforded opportunities in various positions and domains, which facilitate the cultivation of rounded talents. In this spirit, AUO Technology Center (ATC) will be headed by VP Dr. Yong-Hong Lu, responsible for the research and development of advanced technologies, technological platforms, large-sized panel products development, and OLED, among other new technologies. Meanwhile, ATC will continue to leverage its strengths by employing global resources and talents and consolidate cooperation with schools for more innovative energy. Dr. Lu joined AUO in 1998. Prior to his current position, he received his Ph.D. Degree in Applied Chemistry from National Chiao Tung University and was involved in production, planning of next-generation fabs and supply chain management. At the moment, Dr. Lu serves concurrently as VP of Global Supply Chain Management.
Under AUO's global deployment, Mr. Paul Peng continues to serve as Executive VP of Global Business Unit. He will lead the three main business groups including IT Display Business Group, TV Business Group and Consumer Product Business Group, which will work toward providing more client-centric support and services. Among the business groups, Dr. T.K. Wu is appointed as VP & GM of Consumer Product Display Business Group to head the Audio-Video and Mobile Display Business Units in their sales, marketing and R&D. Dr. Wu received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has over twenty years of experience in the TFT-LCD industry.
In the meantime, Mr. F.C. Hsiang remains to be Executive VP of Global Operation Unit, responsible for the Global Manufacturing, Global Production Planning and Global Supply Chain Management. On the other hand, Mr. Shr-Kai Lin is promoted to VP of Global Manufacturing. Having obtained a Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from National Tsing-Hua University, Mr. Lin joined AUO in 2000. Afterwards he had headed fabrications as Director and later Senior Associate Vice President, involved in the planning of next-generation and LEED fabs, and worked his way to become Senior Associate Vice President of TV Display Manufacturing Center. Mr. Lin's well-rounded experience profile signifies AUO's expectation for promising young managers to operate independently to meet challenges in all respects.
“Having been confronted by financial crisis, AUO still managed to invest and innovate progressively. We insist on offering our talents the most attractive stage to perform, by trusting them with their responsibilities and providing them with a wide array of opportunities,” said Dr. L.J. Chen, President and CEO of AUO. At the same time, the Company remains active in the sourcing of middle to senior management and recruitment of global talents. To date, many foreign employees of the Company have risen to become members of the middle and senior management. To meet the vigorous demands for growth in the Era of the 5N's, AUO strives to lead by valuing human resources. Elites from all fields are most welcome to join AUO in quest of a wealth of global opportunities.
